Poetry and Miscellany

  • Poem

    Men say they know many things;
    But lo! they have taken wings—
    The arts and sciences,
    And a thousand appliances;
    The wind that blows
    Is all that any body knows.

    ~ Henry David Thoreau

Taking a cue from Very Like a Whale, today I highlight a thread of NaPoWriMo poetry. I may or may not continue this with varying consistency through the end of April.

To the thread: Harry’s Thread. I particularly enjoy 15 & 16: Gatwik 5am & a haiku thing.

Poem: Loud Music, by Stephen Dobyns
Thoreau: April 17, 1859
